since i’m not really sure where to start, i will just tell you that i love life. in the depths of my soul, i believe that there is good and beauty in this world, and that each of us has a story to tell.
i long to hear as many of these stories as possible before i die, and one of my greatest passions is meeting new people. i have been known to ask waaay too many questions to a new acquaintance. i can’t help it. i love to know who people really are.
i also love to take PHOTOS. i enjoy landscapes, especially beautiful sunsets or sweeping fields of wildflowers, but i enjoy people the most. i am passionate about capturing in a photo what words may not be able to express–the loving look of a bride, the vulnerability of a child, the playfulness of a family. i hope to spend the rest of my life finding the hidden beauty and uniqueness in each person and place i encounter.
the last thing i want you to know about me is my deep passion for hurting and vulnerable children. i have felt a calling to africa for most of my adult life, and finally in 2008, i had the privilege to travel to zambia with familly legacy missions international. i spent 2 weeks with 30 of the most beautiful, courageous, and incredible children. these boys and girls absolutely broke my heart and showed me a kind of faith i had never heard of before. for 2 years, i thought about them every day, and this past summer, i was able to go back and visit them. some had moved away, but many were still there, and i cannot put into words the joy of seeing their faces again. i hope to write more about my experiences in zambia, and tell you more about the amazing children there. if you want to learn more about family legacy, visit here. Family Legacy
i am getting married in just under 2 months, and i feel like i am on the shore, looking out into the vast ocean of things to come. if i close my eyes, i can feel the wind whipping my hair, i can smell the wet salty air, i can feel the water moving back and forth around my feet. i know that so much is about to happen, but, for the moment, there is just calm. i hope you will enjoy reading about the adventures i have already had, and all of the amazing ones ahead.
