Hey! We here at Sundown UNA just wanted to give everyone a HEADS UP that our limited 1703 T’s are coming out next week on Tuesday, May 10. We are super excited!
These are limited edition T’s. Only 27 are available and will complete the original set of Sundown throwback T’s dating back to 2006.
My friend C.Kirk is a very well known international artist from Dallas. However, in the summer of 2006, Kirk was my fellow Starbucks partner in crime.
Kirk was making stencil art on T’s. I was blown away at the detail and how amazing it looked as he sold them at shows and on the street.
I told him how I wanted to do the same thing with this one design I drew. At Kirk’s studio we cut out the logo. He taught me the right techniques from creating stencils to painting on T’s. It was a learning experience.
I think I ruined over 50 t-shirts.
I got better though. Repetition is a key to success, especially in this case.
That’s why 27. One must finish what he started.
The rest of this story will “be continued…” in tomorrow’s article of Up’s of Down.
I just wanted to give you some facts on the 1703 T
A lot of people have asked what does “A Power Above The Powers” mean on the T’s?
It stands for ordinary people who can do extraordinary things when they come together as a community. To make things right where those in power do not know how to or want to. It is the Dramatic power to Establish Oneself for the right things in their community.
At the time I wanted to immediately make the 1703 T’s as a nonprofit organization. Instead I found it better to look into social enterprise as a way to partner with communities to help. We look to give a voice to individuals and organizations alike. We look to help.
