In the past, Cambodia’s Phnom Penh rivaled other major cities in Asia economically. When the Vietnam war spilled into Cambodia, giving rise to the Khmer Rouge, it resulted in the endless slaughter of the Cambodian people and the decimation of Phnom Penh’s infrastructure.
Since then, after settling down and re-establishing it’s monarchy in 1993, Cambodia has had one of the best economic growth records in all of Asia. Cambodia will rise again.
